Indoor air quality and humidity control
In this climate humidity is usually the real problem, not particulates. A house that sits above fifty five percent relative humidity feels warmer than it is and grows things you do not want.
Where the moisture comes from
Leaky return ducts in a hot attic or a vented crawl space pull humid outside air straight into the system. Sealing those is often a larger improvement than any filter or purifier, and it lowers the power bill at the same time.
Where sealing is not enough we add a whole house dehumidifier tied into the return. It runs independently of the cooling call, which is what lets the house stay dry on mild days when the AC barely runs.

What humidity should I target?
Between forty five and fifty five percent. Below that gets uncomfortable and static heavy. Above it is where mold and dust mites take off.
Are UV lights worth it?
They help with coil biofilm, which is a real maintenance benefit. They do very little for the air you breathe. We will install one but we will not oversell it.
How do I know if my ducts leak?
Rooms that never match the thermostat, a system that runs constantly, and dust that returns a day after cleaning. We can pressure test the ducts to confirm.
